Stonefield Development Creates First Group Rebuild Program for
2007 Fire Survivors |
 |
Rancho Bernardo, Ca. ¥ã Stonefield Development, a
leading regional high-end custom and ONE-OF-A-KIND å¨
homebuilder, has organized the first group of 2007 San
Diego fire survivors to take part in a group rebuild
program. Fire survivors are encouraged to join groups
early, as initial members for each rebuilding program
can participate in the preliminary stages of planning
and determine building options. Earlier this month,
Stonefield Development and 2003 fire survivors (who
took part in an 81 home group rebuild after their
neighborhood in Scripps Ranch was destroyed), hosted
an open house event. Approximately 150 recent fire
survivors toured homes rebuilt by Stonefield
Development and connected with residents who went
through the same experiences a few years ago.
Patrick and Patricia O¥úSullivan attended the event
after losing their Rancho Bernardo home in the Witch
Creek fire, and have been researching their options on
how to rebuild.
¥þThere are several things that impress me about what
Stonefield plans on doing to help us,¥ÿ said Patrick.
¥þFor one, they stuck to their word in 2003 regarding
pricing, and that¥ús the type of company you want to
deal with. Also, their architects will create original
floor plans that are geared towards the needs of
individual families, not just produce some cookie
cutter models.¥ÿ
Stonefield¥ús experience with rebuilding after natural
disasters also comes into play for the O¥úSullivans.
¥þThe first time we met with Stonefield at their
rebuilding center, they seemed genuine and eager to
help and educate us. We left with a positive
impression and realized that Stonefield has gone
through this experience before. Back in 2003 when the
housing market was stronger, Stonefield stepped up to
the plate to help. Other homebuilders had other bigger
fish to fry.¥ÿ
According to Robert C. Pack, founder and owner of
Stonefield Development, the group rebuild program
promises to offer help and options for those looking
to rebuild. ¥þWe encourage group rebuilding as it
allows us to achieve a significant economy of scale.
In the 2003 rebuild program, we were able to build
homes at approximately 33% of what it would have cost
to build each one individually. This resulted in a
lower cost per square foot, additional amenities and
customization, and in some cases larger homes. We
look forward to working with this first eager group to
develop a plan tailored to them and their
neighborhood,¥ÿ added Pack.
Pack continued, ¥þThe Scripps Ranch Rebuild was the
most gratifying thing I have ever done. We were the
pioneers for group rebuilding following a natural
disaster. Using what we learned in 2003, through
one-on-one consultations, we will work with the
homeowners and HOAs to develop a program that works
for their neighborhood. It¥ús our mission to have as
many homeowners as possible enjoying the 2008 holiday
season in their new home.¥ÿ
Stonefield Development¥ús rebuilding center is located
at 16959 Bernardo Center Drive, Suite 100 in Rancho
Bernardo. Homeowners are able to receive information
on Stonefield¥ús blueprint for rebuilding after a
natural disaster, and learn about custom rebuilding
and group rebuild plans. To make an appointment, call
858.487.4400 or visit
http://www..stonefielddevelopment.com. Office Hours are
Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or later by
appointment. Walk-in appointments are also available.
From I-15 take Rancho Bernardo Rd. east, cross
Bernardo Center Drive and take the first driveway on
the right. Drive up the hill past the construction and
parking is under the building to the right.
Due to the fact that Stonefield has undertaken this
enormous effort before, they already have key
resources in place ready to begin work. These include
help with insurance, architects, planning, permits,
sub-contractors, designers and landscapers. Stonefield
is still accepting reservations for those looking to
take part in the group rebuild program.
Stonefield Development is a mid-size, privately held
builder specializing in custom and ONE-OF-A-KIND å¨
homes throughout Southern California since 1986.
Stonefield received the ¥þBuilders Helping Neighbors
Community Service Award¥ÿ from the Building Industry
Association of San Diego County (BIA) in 2004. The
company was also awarded ¥þBest of Show¥ÿ in the 2001

Santa Fe, California. Stonefield has built in many
coveted neighborhoods in Southern California including
¥þThe Crosby¥ÿ in Rancho Santa Fe, ¥þCoto de Caza¥ÿ in
